JOB SUMMARY: The Technical Purchasing Negotiator is based in India to strengthen our global procurement efforts for technical goods and services. This role is critical in supplier negotiations, sourcing strategy execution, and driving cost efficiency for a U.S.-based manufacturing operation dedicated to ending global malnutrition. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with our U.S.-based engineering, operations, and raw materials teams to ensure all technical purchases meet rigorous quality and specification standards. This role will also identify opportunities for cost savings, vendor consolidation, and process improvement across our global supply chain. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Sourcing & Technical Procurement Support: Understand technical procurement requirements across production, engineering, and operations. Source, evaluate, and recommend qualified suppliers from India and other regions Align supplier capabilities with technical specifications, certifications, and delivery timelines. Negotiation & Cost Optimization: Lead pricing negotiations and vendor discussions to secure: Competitive pricing and favorable payment terms Value-based long-term agreements Reduced total cost of ownership (TCO) Prepare and maintain supplier agreements, SLAs, and contractual documents under U.S. team guidance Supplier Coordination & Performance Monitoring: Track and report on supplier performance (cost, quality, lead times) Support issue resolution, quality escalations, and vendor improvement actions Collaborate with raw materials procurement team on shared suppliers and bundling opportunities Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with U.S.-based Engineering and Procurement teams to align sourcing strategies and purchasing decisions Coordinate across time zones to support bid processes, documentation, and market analysis Stay current with supplier market trends, emerging technologies, and price fluctuations Process Improvement & Reporting Contribute to the development of procurement SOPs, cost tracking, and risk management practices Support procurement data analysis, vendor scorecards, and internal reporting tools Recommend alternative sourcing approaches or materials to drive efficiency and savings QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related technical field 35 years of experience in industrial or technical procurement, preferably with international exposure Demonstrated success in vendor negotiations, contract management, and sourcing strategy Strong understanding of supplier markets and technical specification alignment Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent), Microsoft Excel, and procurement tools Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including cross-cultural collaboration Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, remote work environment PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES: Highly organized, detail-focused, and process-driven Self-motivated and confident in supplier-facing discussions Collaborative and responsive, with a global team mindset Flexible to work partial overlapping hours with U.S. teams Passionate about contributing to global humanitarian efforts WORKING CONDITIONS: The role requires flexible working hours to collaborate effectively with U.S.-based teams, primarily operating in Eastern Standard Time (EST). A reliable internet connection and a professional home office setup are essential for virtual meetings, secure procurement systems, and data access. The position may occasionally involve early morning or evening meetings to accommodate cross-time-zone coordination. The role also involves extended periods of computer use and regular engagement through digital communication tools. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related technical field 35 years of experience in industrial or technical procurement, preferably with international exposure Demonstrated success in vendor negotiations, contract management, and sourcing strategy Strong understanding of supplier markets and technical specification alignment Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent), Microsoft Excel, and procurement tools Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including cross-cultural collaboration Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, remote work environment Locations : Mumbai, Delhi / NCR, Bengaluru , Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Pune, Remote
