Role Description
: Senior Rust Engineer - ThreatXWe are seeking a highly experienced and passionate Senior Rust Engineer to join our ThreatX security engineering team. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining critical components of our platform, focusing on performance, reliability, and security. This role offers the opportunity to work on challenging technical problems, leverage open-source projects, and possibly mentor junior level engineers. Responsibilities
- This position is for a Senior Software Engineer/Technical Lead
- Primary responsibilities include:Design, develop, and optimize high-performance, fault-tolerant distributed systems mainly in Rust
- Contribute to the architecture and technical roadmap of our core ThreatX platform
- Implement and maintain robust and secure APIs and services
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine requirements and deliver solutions
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues with inherited code in our production environments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement secure, high-availability systems leveraging Rusts performance capabilities.
Nice-to-have skills
- Experience with specific Rust frameworks (e.g, Tokio, Rocket, Axum)
- Basic familiarity with the C programming language in addition to Rust
- Experience with document store databases (e.g, MongoDB, Couchbase, etc)
- Knowledge of security best practices in distributed systems
- Strong familiarity with HTTP fundamentals and REST API styles
- Experience with functional verification of distributed systems
- Architectural experience designing distributed systems and service components
Qualifications
- 6+ years of professional software development experience
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Rust in a production environment
- Strong understanding of distributed systems concepts (e.g, microservices, cloud-native databases, message queues)
- Proficiency in asynchronous programming with Rust (e.g, Tokio)
- Experience with performance optimization and profiling in Rust
- Basic familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
