Job Description

Seeking a Senior Materials Engineer to leverage expertise in developing innovative solutions for next-generation materials for electrification, sustainability, and turbocharger materials. Roles and Responsibilities: A highly motivated and experienced materials engineer with a strong background in research and development of magnetic materials, physical and mechanical metallurgy, advanced characterization techniques, and simulation skills on thermocalc, Procast & JmatPro. Identify magnetic materials and manufacturing process technology gaps and propose solutions for maturing new technologies with high-performance magnets. Develop proposals and present new ideas to soft and hard magnets. Solve problems across the spectrum of innovation, development, and implementation of new material innovation technologies. Coordinate activities with other engineering resources, cross-functional teams, external partners, and the ecosystem to ensure timely completion of project milestones. Actively contribute high-quality IP that has business and technology importance. Participate and present in internal innovation and ideation events. Identify open innovation opportunities with universities and external institutes. Leverage lab equipment for advanced material characterization and microstructural analysis. Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project. Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures. Education: MTech/PhD in materials science and engineering MTech with 4+ years or PhD of relevant experience in research and development Preferred Skills: Strong knowledge of physical metallurgy, mechanical metallurgy, structure-property correlations, advanced characterization techniques. Exposure to advanced high-performance metals, magnetic materials, and silicon steels. Self-motivated and passionate about bringing own ideas to applications. Networking ability across the organization to understand critical business problems. Strong oral and written communication skills. Good interpersonal skills; flexibility to adapt to persons with different geographical, ethnic, and educational backgrounds. Ability to document, plan and execute programs.
