Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Prepare technical datasheets for process equipment and instruments.
Perform material and energy balance calculations for mapped products.
Review vendor documents such as General Arrangement Drawings (GAD).
Design breather valves and calculate capacities for utility equipment (nitrogen plant, air compressor, brine chiller, cooling tower), including pump and heat exchanger sizing.
Develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
Interpret process safety data (DSC, reaction calorimetry, gas evolution, dust explosion reports).
Prepare project proposals, User Requirement Specifications (URS), and Design Qualification (DQ) documents.
Handle vendor enquiries, prepare datasheets, and perform technical comparisons.
Evaluate mass and energy balances, effluent load calculations, and prepare UFDs.
Create all basic engineering documents and review/approve GADs and instrument datasheets.
Write logic for automation systems and conduct dry/wet trials for validation.
Assess peak utility loads and design heat exchangers, line sizing, and pump calculations.
Map capacity for new products and scale up existing products.
Enhance capacity through debottlenecking and reduce cycle time by process modifications.
Review lab development reports and batch manufacturing records for scale-up and commercialization.
Prepare campaign reports, process comparisons, and assess equipment/instrument suitability.
Act as a key member in HAZOP studies with cross-functional teams to ensure safe and robust facilities.

Preferred candidate profile

B.tech in Chemical Engineering.

Minimum 5-7 Years of Experience in API Pharmaceutical Industry.
