Job Description

Role Overview: As a Software Support Engineer, you will be joining an international team spread across the globe, including the USA, Switzerland, Poland, India, Brazil, and Malaysia. Your primary responsibility will be to provide remote support for the Linux-based mobile sensor system of our client. This role will involve diagnosing and troubleshooting system issues, collaborating with hardware engineers, and improving scripts and programs to enhance troubleshooting processes. Key Responsibilities: - Provide live technical support to users facing Linux environment issues via phone, chat, and remote desktop sessions. - Diagnose and troubleshoot a range of Linux system issues including software malfunctions, network connectivity problems, and performance bottlenecks. - Conduct root cause analysis of complex issues and propose effective solutions. - Develop and maintain a library of Bash scripts and command-line tools for automation and system diagnostics. - Communicate technical information clearly to users with varying technical expertise. - Collaborate with internal teams to escalate issues and contribute to product improvements. - Document support interactions, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions accurately. - Contribute to technical documentation, FAQs, and self-help resources. - Stay updated on the latest Linux distributions, technologies, and best practices. - Participate in on-call rotation to provide 8/5 support. Qualifications Required: - 2+ years of experience in technical support focused on Linux systems administration and troubleshooting. - Deep understanding of Linux, such as Ubuntu and Debian. - Proficiency in Linux CLI and Bash scripting. - Knowledge of core Linux services and protocols. - Experience with log analysis, system monitoring tools, and performance tuning on Linux. - Strong problem-solving skills and analytical mindset. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Customer service orientation with a proactive approach. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
