Position Summary:

This position is responsible for assisting the Manager-Investigations and/or Security Services or Manager-Security Services with security operations within the assigned geographic area. The position is also responsible for day-to-day supervision of the physical security infrastructure that protects American Express, its employees, contractors and customers against harm and losses.

Principal Accountabilities:

Physical Security

• Conduct ongoing security reviews and make recommendations for changes where appropriate.
• Coordinate with security contractors to ensure compliance with service level agreements and consistent application of policies and procedures by contract personnel.
• Provide assistance to the Manager in the development and implementation of Security-related controls and processes.

• Interface with business partners in supporting planned/unplanned employee moves, construction projects and special events.

  
  Crisis Management

• Actively support the Crisis Management and Emergency Response program.
• Executive Protection
• Provide executive protection as assigned.

Miscellaneous

• Conduct investigations into Violence in the Workplace incidents

• On call 24/7/365

Breadth of Responsibility:

• Position will be responsible for supporting the Manager within the specified geographic area.
• Autonomy/Problem Solving & Decision Making:
• The incumbent must possess strong leadership skills to effectively manage emergency situations.
• Critical Challenges/ Unique Knowledge & Skills:
• A minimum of 3 years corporate security experience is required. A degree in Security Management/Criminal Justice is preferred.
• Proven self-starter with excellent time management, problem solving and decision-making skills to effectively direct security activities in a culturally diverse work force and handle emergencies, crises and stressful situations calmly, quickly and professionally.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to interface effectively with all levels of management and business partners.
• Experience in working with physical security equipment (CCTV, access control systems, alarms, etc.). Proficient computer skills.
• Knowledge of crisis management programs.
• Executive protection experience.
• Effective written/verbal communication skills.
