Team Lead - Production

1. Production Execution & Target Achievement

• Ensure daily production targets are met, adjusting for mould changes as needed.
• Monitor production efficiency and resolve bottlenecks proactively.
• Conduct random production checks to verify actual output.
• Maintain real-time production records
• Identify and report process inefficiencies or delays to the Factory Manager.
• Ensure curing time has been adhered before moving the mats to the next stage

2. Waste Reduction & Flash Control

• Implement process improvements to minimize flash formation during moulding.
• Regularly inspect flash accumulation and take corrective actions.
• Train workers on proper mould handling and compound usage to reduce flash waste.
• Work with the maintenance team to ensure proper mould fitting and alignment.

3. Rejection Management

• Monitor rejection rates and take corrective actions to minimize defects.
• Conduct compound weight checks to ensure consistency in batches.
• Immediately report high rejection rates or unusual defects to the Factory Manager as well as the QC.

4. Machine & Equipment Oversight

• Conduct routine inspections to ensure all machines (presses, intermix mills, moulding units) are operating efficiently.
• Oversee and assist in mould changes as per production requirements.
• Identify machine issues and coordinate with the maintenance team for repairs.
• Ensure machines are operated safely and optimally for consistent production output.

5. Raw Material Handling & Inventory Control

• Supervise the distribution and usage of raw materials (rubber compound, oil, chemicals).
• Ensure correct formulation is used during mixing and production processes.
• Conduct weight and count checks for mixed rubber before production.
• Monitor stock levels and request replenishment when needed.
• Oversee loading and movement of raw materials into production lines and vehicles.

6. Shift Planning & Workforce Management

• Conduct Daily huddle calls or standup calls to engage with the workforce and plan out production for the day.
• Check daily manpower availability and report shortages to the Factory Manager.
• Assign workers to production lines based on skills and availability.
• Handle workforce conflicts and shop floor discipline.
• Train new workers on job-specific tasks, including mixing compounds and operating presses.
• Monitor worker attendance and ensure compliance with shift schedules.
• Source manpower when in shortage

7. Reporting & Documentation

• Maintain accurate records of production output, raw material usage, flash waste, and quality checks.
• Submit daily reports to the Factory Manager on production figures, rejection rates, flash levels, and manpower status.
• Ensure compliance with company SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for documentation.

8. Miscellaneous Responsibilities

• Keeping the work floor clean and hygienic at the beginning & end of the shift Facility & Hygiene Management
• Ensure the hygiene and cleanliness of the factory floor throughout production time.
• Document cleanliness records in the housekeeping file.
• Ensure mandatory health and safety trainings and updates are provided to the workers & maintain training reports
