Job Description

Role Overview: As a Data Team Lead at Morningstar India Private Ltd., you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of a sub-team of managed investment data (MID) that powers Morningstar products and platforms. You will work closely with Global Process Owners, MID Data Leaders, and Global Data Director to ensure that all deliverables are met and that the team is equipped with necessary training and documentation. Your role will involve improving team performance, productivity, and efficiency, while supporting team engagement and growth opportunities. Key Responsibilities: - Manage and develop a team of 10+ Data Research Analysts by providing clear direction, setting SMART goals, and optimizing resource allocation. - Collaborate with global teams and functions, participating in regular calls and meetings. - Identify and eliminate roadblocks by partnering with technology and database teams. - Conduct research on complex projects to provide actionable recommendations. - Promote LEAN Six Sigma tools for assessing root causes and improving processes. - Maintain high-quality standards in data collection. - Act as the main point of contact for the team, addressing questions and concerns. - Track, measure, and report on daily, monthly, and quarterly metrics. - Provide coaching and training to team members, setting individual and group goals. - Motivate and reward the team to ensure high morale. - Conduct performance reviews and set career development paths for team members. - Monitor staffing requirements and availability of Data Research Analysts. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor/Masters degree in finance/business with an exceptional academic record. - Professional degree (CA, CA-Inter, ICWA, ICWA-Inter) preferred. - 5+ years of professional work experience at various seniority levels. - Strong people and project management skills. - Effective communication with local and international teams. - Proven experience in process optimization. - Willingness to work in a high-performance culture and flexibility to take calls early or late nights. - Prior experience in leading teams of 10+ people will be an advantage. - Demonstrated ability to develop talent.
