Overview
The Tax Analyst will be a critical member of the global tax team, primarily responsible for managing all aspects of Indian Goods and Services Tax (GST) compliance and supporting U.S./International Indirect Tax compliance. This role requires a strong blend of tax technical expertise, and a commitment to learn. The Analyst will report directly to a Senior Manager based in the U.S.
Key Responsibilities

Return Filing:
Prepare, review, and ensure the timely filing of all required monthly, quarterly, and annual GST returns (including GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, and GSTR-9). - Monitor legislative and regulatory changes in Indian Indirect Taxes and assess their potential impact on business operations and compliance processes.
- Assist the U.S. team with various U.S.& International Indirect Tax compliance requirements, including State & Local Sales/Use Taxes, VAT, GST returns.
- Monitor and respond to tax notices from various tax authorities, and assist in the preparation and execution of audit defense documentation.
- Conduct research on tax laws and provide clear, practical guidance on compliance and planning initiatives to internal stakeholders.
- Utilize strong technical capabilities to ensure the timely extraction and transformation of data from disparate sources, preparing it for tax compliance and analytical processes.
- Perform tax account reconciliations, apply general tax and accounting concepts, and assist with various indirect tax payment processing and journal entry preparation.
- Assist in the implementation, documentation, and maintenance of internal controls, processes, and procedures to ensure SOX compliance.
- Coordinate effectively with external service providers to ensure the timely and accurate completion of indirect tax compliance requirements.
- Support the team with various ad-hoc projects and initiatives as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
Education & Certification
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
Preferred Certifications:
CA / CS / CMA / M.COM / LLB. - 3+ years of progressive experience in indirect tax, encompassing compliance and tax accounting, gained in public accounting or a corporate tax department. OR 1-2 years of dedicated experience working on GST matters.
- Demonstrated good understanding of GST Laws and Indian Indirect Taxes is a prerequisite.
- Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, logical functions).
- Experience with account reconciliations and journal entry preparation.
- Experience with Alteryx or similar tools used for data analytics and transformation.
