Job Description

Position Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Commi 1 – Tandoori to assist in preparing authentic Indian tandoor dishes including kebabs, breads, and grilled items. The ideal candidate should have solid experience in a professional kitchen with a focus on tandoor operations and a strong understanding of Indian spices and marinades.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook tandoori items such as naan, roti, kebabs, and grilled meats/vegetables.
Assist the Tandoor Chef in marination, portioning, and mise-en-place preparation.
Operate and maintain tandoor ovens, skewers, and other equipment properly.
Ensure food is prepared and presented in line with quality and hygiene standards.
Follow instructions from seniors for plating, timing, and service coordination.
Monitor food storage and handling to prevent wastage and ensure freshness.
Maintain cleanliness of the tandoor station and follow kitchen safety protocols.
Support in inventory checks and inform the chef of any shortages.

Requirements:

1–3 years of experience in a professional kitchen with hands-on tandoor experience.
Basic knowledge of Indian tandoori cuisine and traditional techniques.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, hot kitchen environment.
Familiarity with hygiene and food safety standards (FSSAI compliance preferred).
Team player with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
Culinary diploma or vocational training is a plus.
