Job Description

As a Swimming Instructor at our organization, you will be responsible for teaching swimming techniques and water safety to individuals or groups, ranging from beginners to advanced swimmers. You will develop and implement lesson plans that cater to varying skill levels and ages. Your role will involve breaking down complex swimming strokes into manageable steps for beginners, gradually increasing difficulty as students progress. Providing clear demonstrations and correcting students" techniques to help them improve will be essential. You will ensure the safety of all students during swim lessons by adhering to pool safety guidelines and monitoring swimmers closely to respond quickly to any signs of distress or unsafe behavior. Key Responsibilities: - Conducting safety briefings and educating swimmers on proper pool conduct and water safety protocols - Being prepared to perform rescues in the event of an emergency and administer first aid or CPR if necessary - Planning and organizing swim lessons that are fun, engaging, and effective - Structuring classes to gradually build skills and confidence in the water - Ensuring lessons are age-appropriate and cater to the needs of individual swimmers within group lessons - Assessing and tracking the progress of each swimmer and adjusting lessons accordingly - Providing constructive feedback and encouragement to help students develop confidence and improve their abilities - Communicating progress reports to students or parents, highlighting strengths and areas for improvement - Managing group dynamics in the water, ensuring all swimmers receive attention and instruction - Maintaining discipline and ensuring a positive, respectful environment in the pool - Encouraging teamwork and good sportsmanship during group lessons - Ensuring that all swimming equipment is in good condition and set up for lessons - Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the pool area and storage spaces - Regularly communicating with parents regarding their child's progress, achievements, and areas needing improvement - Offering guidance on how parents can support their child's learning and water confidence outside of lessons - Staying updated on the latest swimming techniques, teaching methods, and water safety standards - Attending training sessions or workshops to enhance teaching skills and certifications - Representing the organization professionally, promoting its values and maintaining its high standards of instruction - Engaging with students and parents to ensure a positive experience and maintain a good reputation for the swim program Qualifications Required: - Previous experience as a swimming instructor or lifeguard - Certification in CPR and First Aid - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to work effectively with individuals of all ages and skill levels - Knowledge of swimming techniques, water safety, and instructional methods Please note that this is a full-time position with health insurance and Provident Fund benefits. The work schedule may include evening shifts, morning shifts, and weekend availability. The work location is in person.,
