Job Description

1. FSF Matte and Slag Tapping Planning & Execution Oversee and manage the tapping of matte and slag from the Flash Smelting Furnace (FSF). Ensure safe and efficient extraction of matte and slag to maintain furnace productivity. Develop tapping schedules based on process requirements and furnace conditions. Coordinate with downstream processing units to ensure smooth transfer of molten products. Monitor temperature and chemical composition (MG) of tapped material. 2. SCF Matte Tapping Oversee matte tapping operations from the Slag Cleaning Furnace (SCF) to ensure high metal recovery. Optimize tap hole lancing, plugging, and tapping sequences to maintain process stability. Manage slag-metal separation efficiency to maximize valuable metal recovery. Work closely with shift incharge and PLC operators to adjust slag chemistry and matte quality. 3. Manpower Handling Supervise and coordinate tapping crews and furnace operators to ensure smooth execution of tasks. Train personnel on safety protocols, tapping techniques, and emergency handling for molten metal operations. Plan and allocate manpower resources effectively to optimize production shifts. Conduct safety briefings and risk assessments for high-temperature operations. Key Skills & Requirements: Technical Knowledge of matte/slag chemistry and high-temperature smelting processes. Experience in furnace operation, tapping procedures, and refractory maintenance. Safety Compliance with molten metal handling protocols and workplace safety regulations. Leadership & Team Management skills for overseeing tapping crews and plant personnel. Problem-Solving & Decision-Making abilities for troubleshooting furnace and tapping issues. Qualifications: Diploma,Diploma in Mech. Engg.
