Job Description

As a Supply Chain Planner at Cummins, you will play a crucial role in the planning and management of daily supply chain activities within various functional areas such as materials, production, inventory, logistics, customer service, demand management, and order fulfillment. Your primary objective will be to ensure the smooth functioning of supply chain operations while meeting the expectations of both internal and external customers through effective planning, collaboration with stakeholders, and continuous process enhancement. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to optimize supply chain signals, adjusting planning parameters for optimal performance, executing daily operational planning processes, identifying and addressing potential supply chain risks, and working closely with stakeholders to drive short-term improvements. Additionally, you will analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for enhancement and participate in cross-functional process improvement projects. Key Skills and Competencies required for this role include expertise in Part Change Control Management, Supplier and Stakeholder Management, Materials Planning System Utilization, Plan for Every Part (PFEP) principles, Master Supply Scheduling, and Material Planning & KPI Management. Proficiency in using planning systems and tools such as Excel, Access, TOAD, and OMS is essential for effective decision-making and performance tracking. In addition to technical skills, the core competencies expected from you include effective communication, customer focus, result orientation, global perspective, ability to manage complexity, optimization of work processes, and appreciation of diversity. To qualify for this position, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or possess equivalent experience. A certification in supply chain or logistics (e.g., APICS, CPIM) would be advantageous. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of relevant experience in supply chain planning or a related field, with a preference for experience in a manufacturing or logistics environment.
