Job Summary:

The Head of Logistics will be responsible for overseeing the entire logistics, and supply chain operations to ensure seamless movement of materials from suppliers to customers. The role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and operational efficiency to optimize costs, improve delivery timelines, and enhance customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Operations

  • Develop and implement logistics strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Optimize supply chain processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Ensure on-time and accurate delivery of products to customers.

Logistics & Transportation Management

  • Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, including vendor coordination, freight, and transportation.
  • Manage relationships with transport providers to ensure cost-effective and reliable delivery.
  • Monitor and improve delivery schedules, ensuring customer expectations are met.

Warehousing & Inventory Management

  • Manage warehouse operations, ensuring proper storage, stock accuracy, and efficient dispatch.
  • Implement best practices in inventory control to minimize stock losses and pilferage.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards in warehouse operations.

Vendor & Supplier Management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, transporters, and logistics partners.
  • Negotiate contracts and service agreements to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality service.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address any service-related issues.

Technology & Process Improvement

  • Leverage technology and data analytics to improve logistics performance.
  • Implement digital tracking and reporting systems for better visibility of shipments and inventory.
  • Drive automation and process enhancements to streamline operations.

People Management & Leadership

  • Build and lead a high-performing logistics team.
  • Train and develop team members to enhance skills and efficiency.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and customer focus.

Key Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors/Masters degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or operations management, preferably in construction materials or related industries.
  • Proven experience in warehouse management, transportation, and vendor negotiations.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and ERP systems.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
