Job Title: Port Operations and SCM Officer Location: Kandla (Gujrat) Experience Required: 4-8 years Department: Operations / Supply Chain Reports To: Head Procurement-North Role Overview: We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Port Operations and SCM Officer to manage end-to-end port operations, supply chain activities, and sales coordination for petroleum and bitumen products (both bulk and packed). The role demands strong coordination skills across multiple stakeholders including port terminals, logistics partners, customs authorities, and customers to ensure smooth, timely, and accurate product movement. Key Responsibilities: Port & Terminal Operations Coordinate with container and bulk terminals for inbound and outbound product handling. Oversee receipt and delivery of packed or bulk Bitumen and other petroleum products. Ensure all operations at port adhere to safety, quality, and compliance standards. Supply Chain & Logistics Management Arrange and monitor product transportation from terminal to customer sites. Coordinate with transport crew to ensure timely dispatches and deliveries. Manage logistics documentation including invoicing, e-way bills, and dispatch records. Inventory management including record keeping for receipts, Dispatches and balance stock on day-to-day basis. Customs & Regulatory Coordination Liaise with Customs House Agents (CHA) and customs departments for smooth clearance of shipments. Ensure all statutory and documentation requirements are met in compliance with regulations. Sales & Order Management Handle customer indents and ensure timely order placement at loading terminals. Monitor order fulfillment from booking to delivery, maintaining complete accuracy. Quality Assurance & Documentation Manage product sampling and coordinate testing with designated laboratories. Track and obtain test reports to ensure adherence to required specifications. Verify quality, quantity, pricing, and invoicing accuracy as per contractual terms. Data Management & Reporting Maintain comprehensive MIS reports, including: Supplier-wise supply details Customer-wise purchase details Contract compliance and performance tracking Provide timely and accurate reports to support decision-making and audit requirements. Key Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of port operations , supply chain management , and logistics coordination . Hands-on experience in petroleum or bitumen product handling preferred. Excellent coordination and stakeholder management skills. Proficiency in MS Excel and MIS reporting . Strong understanding of customs documentation, invoicing, and compliance processes . Attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to deadlines. Educational Qualification: Bachelors degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Commerce. The role demands a strategic thinker with hands-on expertise in trading, sourcing, procurement of physical products. Key Responsibilities Strategic Sourcing: Procure petroleum products/ chemicals / bulk products/ liquid bulk and packed products from reputed sources, ensuring compliance with sales, operations, customer specific requirements. Networking and practical knowledge of key suppliers, dealers, reseller, importers, international traders, reputed parties for enabling smooth procurement, sourcing and timely supply of products. Inspect and process requisitions, coordinating with contract owners to resolve pricing/contract issues. Assign sources of supply and issue requests for quotes to acquire competitive pricing and terms from various reputed suppliers and build competitive price discovery. Collaborate with stakeholders to finalize purchase decisions, generating purchase orders and confirming supplier acceptance with contract term. Comprehensive knowledge and use of digital procurement tools viz. SAP, ARIBA, E-proc products for achieving errorfree execution, transparency, data analytics and digital footprint of various layers of procurement and sourcing. Market & Trade Intelligence Keeping track of new shipments, Analyse domestic and international product prices trends, markets, and competitor activity. Build deep insights into buyers, sellers, and trade flows. Stakeholder & Supplier Management Resolve operational aspects with multiple stake holders including suppliers, sourcing specialists, quality control/ testing laboratory staff and specification specialists and supply chain partners, managing challenges and disruptions leading to smooth closures of purchase and procurement in timely manner. Ensured smooth transaction processing addressing quality, delivery, payment, and returns-related issues. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers, buyers, and logistics partners. Regulatory & Risk Management Stay updated on government policies, regulations, and trade agreements affecting chemical and petroleum imports/exports. Mitigate risks related to pricing volatility, supply disruptions, and compliance issues. Key Requirements Education: MBA / PGDM from a premier institute (IIFT preferred) or equivalent. Experience: 8–10 years (flexible 5–12 years) in bitumen sourcing , chemical trading , or petroleum supply chain . Industry Exposure: Strong preference for candidates from Oil& Gas, petroleum or chemical sectors . Trade Expertise: Proven experience managing trade operations and regulations. Familiarity with key contracting terms, documents . Skills: Strong negotiation and vendor management skills. In-depth understanding of market dynamics and pricing strategies .
