Job Description

The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring product and process quality through effective warranty failure analysis, supplier performance management, system implementation, and cross-functional collaboration. The role supports continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS), customer satisfaction, and organizational performance through structured problem-solving and data-driven reporting.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Warranty Failure Analysis

• Conduct detailed failure analysis for warranty returns to identify root causes and corrective actions.

• Prepare structured reports (8D/5Why/Fishbone) and coordinate with internal teams to prevent recurrence.

• Communicate findings to relevant stakeholders and ensure closure of corrective actions.

2. MIS & Dashboard Management

• Maintain and update quality-related MIS, dashboards, and monthly performance reports.

• Track key quality KPIs, trends, and supplier performance metrics for management review.

• Ensure data accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with business requirements.

3. QMS Maintenance

• Support implementation and maintenance of ISO 9001 and organizational QMS requirements.

• Prepare and update quality procedures, work instructions, and audit documents.

• Participate in internal audits and ensure timely closure of NCs.

4. Development Sample Inspection

• Perform inspection and validation of development and PPAP samples.

• Verify conformance to drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.

• Coordinate with suppliers and engineering teams for timely approvals.

 

 

 

5. Supplier Assessment & Performance Monitoring

• Conduct supplier audits, capability assessments, and process evaluations.

• Monitor supplier performance through scorecards, ratings, and periodic reviews.

• Drive supplier development activities and ensure adherence to quality standards.

6. System Implementation & Maintenance

• Implement new quality systems, processes, and digital tools for improved efficiency.

• Ensure system integrity, document control, and continuous performance improvement.

7. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with production, engineering, procurement, and customer service teams.

• Support new product development (NPD), process changes, and technical discussions.

• Facilitate cross-functional problem-solving and improvement activities.

8. Quality Assurance & Complaint Handling

• Oversee in-process and final quality assurance activities.

• Analyze complaints, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate corrective actions.

• Maintain documentation and ensure prevention of repeat issues.
