Structured Trade Underwriter - Senior Vice President

The underwriter position requires excellent communication skills to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. You must possess developed communication and diplomacy skills to guide, influence, and convince others, including colleagues from different areas and external customers. You will be accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the business operations. Ideally suited for individuals working as Risk Approvers, Senior Analysts, Coverage Bankers, Transactors, or Product Specialists covering Structured Trade Products like Structured Receivable transactions. Key Responsibilities: - Provide global coverage with a focus on Asia - Collaborate with Bankers, Product Partners, and Underwriters to underwrite credit extension requests for new and existing clients - Familiarity with credit structuring, legal documentation review, and receivable transactions - Develop a strong understanding of Citibank products and services within Trade, Banking, and the broader organization - Conduct industry, portfolio, and geographical research as required - Coach and train less experienced underwriters and product partners in credit analysis and approval processes - Recommend process improvements for greater efficiency - Assess risks appropriately when making business decisions, considering the firm's reputation and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations Qualifications: - Minimum 10 years of relevant experience - Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting preferred - Advanced analytical skills, including the ability to assess financial statements, cash flow, industry analysis, and projections - Knowledge of accounting theory and its practical application in credit underwriting - Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines - Effective written and verbal communication skills - Problem-solving and resolution skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing applications, including Excel and Word Education: - Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred - Proficient in English This job description offers a high-level overview of the role.
