Structural Engineer

As a structural engineer, your role will involve designing and analyzing buildings and steel structures to ensure they are safe, durable, and can withstand various environmental factors. Your primary objective will be to create functional and economical structures that meet specific requirements throughout their intended lifespan. Key Responsibilities: - Work closely on construction plans with clients and architects - Prepare reports, designs, and drawings - Make calculations about loads and stresses - Assess immediate and long-term loads and demands to maintain structural integrity - Demonstrate confidence in your work and consult with authorities when doubts arise - Execute tasks efficiently, intelligently, and with a clear understanding - Use computer simulations to predict structure reactions under different conditions - Inspect unsafe buildings and recommend repair or demolition options - Schedule labor and monitor workers through phone calls - Visit relevant offices like panchayat or municipality when necessary Qualifications Required: - Degree or postgraduate qualification in structural engineering with at least 1 year of experience in construction firms - Hands-on experience with ETABS, STAAD.Pro, or other relevant structural design software and AutoCAD - Good communication, interpersonal, and technical skills - Strong problem-solving skills and familiarity with computers and software programs - Ability to explain design plans, ideas, and meet deadlines In addition to the above, the company is located in Nagercoil, Tamil Nadu, and the job type is full-time with a willingness to travel up to 25%.
