Strategic Sourcing Specialist

Key Responsibilities

1. Supplier Identification & Development

• Identify reliable, cost-effective, and quality-focused suppliers across India and the Asia-Pacific region.
  
• Evaluate suppliers based on future business needs and long-term potential to support global customers and supply chain operations.
  

2. Global & Regional Coordination

• Work closely with the Asia Cluster and global procurement teams to align processes, pricing structures, and regional procurement strategies.
  

3. Cost Analysis & Validation

• Perform detailed cost breakdowns of engineering products.
  
• Validate supplier pricing, ROC (Rate of Change), and ensure competitiveness.
  
• Consolidate volumes to negotiate the best prices in the market.
  

4. Alternate Sourcing

• Identify and develop alternate suppliers for single-source components to reduce risk and ensure supply continuity.
  

5. Commercial & Contract Management

• Strengthen commercial terms with suppliers for major projects across all business segments.
  
• Identify and mitigate risks during contract finalization.
  

6. Spend Analytics & Benchmarking

• Conduct spend analysis to monitor procurement performance.
  
• Set benchmarks and drive continuous improvement across procurement functions.
  

7. Vendor Consolidation & Management

• Reduce fragmented vendor base by consolidating low-spend suppliers.
  
• Develop strategic plans for high-value and critical suppliers.
  

8. Process Improvements & Digital Tools

• Implement modern procurement tools such as reverse auction platforms, supplier rating systems, transport MIS, and other digital solutions to enhance efficiency.

• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional and global teams.
  
• Knowledge of procurement tools, sourcing methodologies, and vendor management.

Preferred Qualifications

• B.Tech degree
  
• Experience in engineering, manufacturing, or industrial procurement.
  
• Hands-on experience in global/local sourcing projects.
