Role Overview
AVP Strategic Account Management
Key Responsibilities
Revenue & Margin Ownership
- Own city-level revenue and gross margin targets for existing clients, ensuring YoY growth through disciplined forecasting, pipeline reviews, and structured expansion plans.
- Drive quarterly and monthly business reviews (QBRs/MBRs), aligning teams and clients on performance and next steps.
Client Partnership & Advisory
- Act as a C-suite advisor to CMOs, VPs, and marketing heads on media mix, creative platforms, growth strategy, martech, and data-driven decision-making.
- Translate client objectives into actionable, measurable plans tied to business outcomes.
Strategic Planning
- Develop 12-month account plans, including vision, roadmap, testing agenda, and budget scenarios.
- Align and coordinate cross-functional squadsmedia, creative, CX/CRM, analytics, and technologyto ensure seamless execution.
Commercial Negotiation & Governance
- Lead negotiations and governance of contracts including MSAs, SOWs, renewals, and change orders while protecting scope, utilization, and margin.
- Identify and mitigate delivery risks early to ensure on-time and high-quality service.
Performance Measurement
- Define and implement measurement frameworks, including north-star KPIs, leading indicators, and benchmarks.
- Convert performance data into board-ready narratives and actionable insights for clients.
Business Expansion
- Drive growth through stakeholder mapping, whitespace assessment, cross-sell/upsell motions, and executive sponsorship programs.
Team Leadership
- Build, coach, and mentor a high-performing team of Account Managers (57 members).
- Set clear OKRs, establish coaching rhythms, lead hiring efforts, and cultivate a client-first, high-bar culture.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee capacity planning, SLA governance, delivery timelines, and quality benchmarks.
- Lead blameless post-mortems and continuous-improvement initiatives.
Thought Leadership
- Publish point-of-view content, industry insights, and market commentary.
- Represent the agency at forums and client events to build credibility and expand relationships.
Qualifications
- 1014 years of experience in digital marketing or account leadership within an agency or consulting environment.
- Last 56 years of experience owning revenue and margin for strategic accounts.
- Strong forecasting discipline with robust pipeline management and QBR/MBR leadership involving C-suite stakeholders.
- Commercial acumen with hands-on experience negotiating MSAs, SOWs, pricing, renewals, and change orders.
- Proven experience in team leadershipcoaching, hiring, succession planning, and performance management.
- Expertise across paid media channels, programmatic, content marketing, and creative solutions.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to define north-star KPIs and dashboards, and convert data into business decisions (experience with GA4, Looker, Tableau is a plus).
- Excellent executive communicationclear writing, persuasive presentations, and workshop facilitation.
- A proactive mindset, structured planning ability, and a passion for helping clients grow.
