Retail Store Manager (Apparel & Footwear)
About The Opportunity
A fast-moving, customer-first business in the fashion retail sector operating multi-format apparel and footwear stores across India. We deliver curated product assortments, high-touch in-store experiences and strong omnichannel fulfilment—seeking an experienced store leader to drive sales, operations and team excellence at a high-traffic location.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day store operations to consistently meet and exceed monthly sales targets, conversion and other KPIs.
- Own merchandising and visual standards—implement floor planograms, seasonal resets and promotions to maximise sell-through.
- Manage inventory lifecycle: stock replenishment, cycle counts, returns, and minimise shrinkage through robust processes.
- Hire, coach and develop a high-performing sales team; set targets, run huddles, and drive service behaviours that improve NPS and repeat business.
- Ensure smooth omnichannel fulfilment (click & collect, returns) and accurate POS transactions, reconciliations and cash handling.
- Maintain compliance with safety, store standards, visual merchandising guidelines and basic P&L accountability for store-level profitability.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- 3+ years in retail management (store manager or assistant manager) with at least 1–2 years in apparel/footwear preferred.
- Proven track record of hitting sales targets and managing KPI-driven teams in a high-volume store environment.
- Strong inventory control skills and familiarity with POS/retail management systems; comfortable with basic Excel reporting.
- Excellent leadership, communication and customer service skills; ability to work flexible retail hours including weekends.
Preferred
- Degree or diploma in Retail Management, Business, Commerce or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with omnichannel retail processes (click & collect, ship-from-store), visual merchandising standards and loss-prevention programs.
