About The Role
The Senior Manager - Operational Excellence at BP Energy will play a pivotal role within the Customers & Products Business & Technology Center (BTC) based in Pune, India. This position is designed for a strategic leader who will spearhead initiatives aimed at optimizing operational processes, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a culture of excellence across the BTC. The role involves developing and executing comprehensive strategies to enhance process efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer experiences through innovative solutions and digital enablement. The Senior Manager will collaborate closely with various business units, operational excellence teams, and transformation leads to ensure that all initiatives align with BP&aposs broader business objectives. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor&aposs degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related field, with an MBA or relevant master&aposs degree preferred. A minimum of 15 years of proven experience in operations, process transformation, or quality management within centralized or shared service environments is essential. The candidate must have at least 3 years in a senior leadership role demonstrating strategic influence and operational impact. Certification in Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent is mandatory, with additional certifications such as PMP or Agile Scrum Master considered advantageous. Strong expertise in data analytics, automation, and digital tools such as RPA and workflow platforms is required. The candidate should demonstrate excellent leadership, communication, and influencing skills, along with a solid understanding of organizational change management and performance analytics.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Operational Excellence strategy aligned with BPs business goals, ensuring an end-to-end process focus across all sub-entities within the BTC.
- Establish and maintain operational standards, critical performance metrics, and service levels to ensure high-quality delivery from BTC teams.
- Identify, prioritize, and lead transformation initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, reducing costs, and creating value through process reengineering and standardization using Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
- Drive process mapping, automation, and digital enablement initiatives to eliminate waste, streamline workflows, and enhance customer experience.
- Design and deploy performance dashboards, reports, and governance frameworks to monitor operational performance and ensure continuous improvement.
- Lead operational reviews, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans to address performance gaps and optimize processes.
- Champion customer-centric approaches by embedding the voice of the customer into process design and service delivery models.
- Act as a change agent to promote adoption of new processes, tools, and ways of working across the BTC and related business units.
- Build and develop a high-performing Operational Excellence team through mentoring, training, and leadership development initiatives.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and digital transformation within the organization.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including partners, to align improvement initiatives with business needs and strategic priorities.
