Role Objective
To lead and control the entire finance, accounting, costing, taxation, and statutory compliance functions of the factory, ensuring financial discipline, profitability, statutory adherence, and management decision support, while safeguarding company assets and improving financial performance.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Financial Management & Control
- Overall responsibility for financial accounting, reporting, and control of factory operations.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Maintain strong internal financial controls and compliance with accounting standards.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and fund utilization.
2. Costing, Budgeting & Profitability
- Prepare and monitor annual budgets, forecasts, and rolling projections.
- Implement product-wise, order-wise, and department-wise costing systems.
- Analyze cost per unit, conversion cost, and margin and highlight variances.
- Support management in pricing decisions, profitability analysis, and cost reduction initiatives.
3. Statutory Compliance & Taxation
- Ensure 100% compliance with: Income Tax, GST, TDS, Customs, and other applicable tax laws, Factory-related financial compliances
- Manage GST returns, reconciliations, refunds, and audits.
- Coordinate with statutory authorities and external consultants.
- Handle tax assessments, notices, and litigation support, if any.
4. Audit & Governance
- Lead statutory audit, internal audit, cost audit, and special audits.
- Ensure timely closure of audit observations with corrective actions.
- Strengthen governance through policy implementation and SOP adherence.
- Act as a key liaison with auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies.
5. Working Capital & Banking
- Manage banking relationships, limits, and documentation.
- Monitor receivables, payables, inventory valuation, and credit control.
- Ensure optimal working capital cycle and minimize finance costs.
- Support negotiations with banks for limits, Letter of Credit (LC), BG, and forex exposure.
6. MIS, Reporting & Management Support
- Prepare and present monthly MIS, including: P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, Cost & variance analysis, Unit-wise and buyer-wise profitability
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to top management.
- Support strategic decisions related to capacity expansion, capex, and investments.
7. Systems, Processes & ERP
- Ensure proper implementation and utilization of ERP accounting systems.
- Improve financial processes through automation and digitization.
- Establish and monitor financial SOPs across departments.
- Ensure data integrity and reporting accuracy.
8. Team Leadership & Coordination
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Accounts & Finance team.
- Allocate work, review performance, and ensure capability building.
- Work closely with Production, Purchase, HR, Stores, and Commercial teams for integrated decision-making.
9. Risk Management & Asset Protection
- Identify financial and operational risks and implement mitigation plans.
- Ensure proper asset accounting, capitalization, depreciation, and physical verification.
- Strengthen controls to prevent fraud, leakage, and revenue loss.

Experience
- 10-12 years of post-qualification experience
- Minimum 5-7 years in a manufacturing export factory environment
- Experience handling audits, GST, and factory finance operations
