Role Summary:

This is a full-time on-site role in Bengaluru.

The Sr. BOM Engineer will be responsible for managing and optimizing the Bill of Materials (BOM) for various Bioprocess equipment. This includes review of BOM, data sheet preparation, technical clearance, vender communication, troubleshooting issues, and contributing to process engineering. The Engineer will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure regulatory compliance and cost-effective solutions are delivered.

Key Responsibilities:

• Approve the selection of appropriate components for Biopharma equipment based on project requirements, considering factors such as material compatibility, regulatory compliance, and process specifications

• Review and approve the utility requirements for Biopharma equipment, including but not limited to water, air, and power, ensuring that the equipment functions optimally

• Review and approve data sheets created by team of engineers

• Review the line sizing calculations to determine the appropriate dimensions for pipes and tubing within the Biopharma equipment, considering flow rates, pressure drops, and material properties.

• Conduct thermal calculations for heat exchangers to ensure efficient heat transfer within the Biopharma equipment, taking into account process temperatures and heat exchange requirements.

• Review the selection of suitable pumps for the Biopharma equipment, considering factors such as flow rates, pressure requirements, and compatibility with the process fluids

• Thoroughly review and analyse Bill of Material and data sheets prepared by the engineering team, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project specifications and standards

• Evaluate and assess potential new vendors for components, materials, or equipment, considering factors such as quality, reliability, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to industry standards

• Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, ensuring effective communication and collaboration to meet project requirements and timelines

• Engage in discussions with clients to understand their utility requirements, ensuring clarity on expectations and incorporating client preferences into the engineering design

• Collaborate with the Testing and Qualification team to troubleshoot any issues that arise during testing and qualification phases, providing engineering support to ensure equipment meets specified standards

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation throughout the equipment selection and design process, including design calculations, data sheets, and any relevant reports

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering/Biochemical/Biotechnology/Mechanical Engineering. M Tech is preferred.
• 7-8 years of experience in process engineering.
• Experience with Process Equipment and Process Control.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• Experience in the biopharmaceutical industry is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹800,000.00 - ₹1,000,000.00 per year
