Job Summary

L2 AWS Cloud Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Incident & Service Request Management:
• Handle and resolve service requests and incidents using tools like JIRA.
• Ensure timely resolution and proper documentation.
• AWS Infrastructure Support:
• Manage and troubleshoot AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, ELB, SES, IAM, Lambda, and Route 53.
• Monitor system performance and availability.
• System Optimization & Monitoring:
• Use tools like CloudWatch and CloudTrail to monitor and optimize infrastructure.
• Implement performance tuning and cost optimization strategies.
• Documentation & Reporting:
• Maintain accurate documentation for processes, configurations, and resolutions.
• Generate reports for system health and incident trends.
• Collaboration & Escalation:
• Work closely with L3 engineers, developers, and DevOps teams.
• Escalate complex issues appropriately.
• Security & Compliance:
• Ensure adherence to security policies and compliance standards.
• Manage IAM roles, policies, and access controls.
• Shift & Availability:
• Participate in 24/7 rotational shifts.
• Be available for on-call support during off-hours.
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 2–7 years of experience in AWS cloud operations or support.
• Strong knowledge of core AWS services.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience with monitoring tools and scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Good understanding of networking, security groups, and IAM.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• AWS certifications (e.g., AWS SysOps Administrator) are a plus.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in hybrid cloud environments (AWS + Azure/GCP).
• Exposure to containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of ITIL processes and change management.
