Role Overview:

The Head IT Counselor will be responsible for overseeing the counseling department for IT courses and training programs. The role requires providing guidance to students/prospects, ensuring enrollment targets, supervising the counseling team, and building strong relationships with students, parents, and corporate clients. The position demands leadership skills, in-depth knowledge of IT programs, and the ability to align counseling strategies with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and mentor the team of IT counselors to achieve individual and team enrollment targets.
  • Counsel students and professionals on IT courses, certifications, and career paths based on their academic background, career aspirations, and industry demand.
  • Design and implement counseling strategies to maximize student satisfaction and admissions.
  • Stay updated with the latest IT trends, certifications, and industry needs to provide accurate career guidance.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to generate leads and participate in promotional activities (seminars, webinars, workshops, etc.).
  • Monitor daily operations of the counseling team including inquiry handling, follow-ups, and conversions.
  • Prepare and present reports on counseling performance, admissions, and market trends to management.
  • Build partnerships with colleges, universities, and corporate clients for business development opportunities.
  • Handle escalated counseling cases and ensure resolution to maintain high standards of service.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and maintain data confidentiality.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Graduate / Postgraduate in IT, Computer Science, Management, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in the counseling/education industry, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of IT courses, certifications (Cloud, Cybersecurity, AI, Data Science, Software Development, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
  • Sales orientation with a proven track record of meeting admission targets.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and adapt counseling strategies accordingly.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools.
