Sr. Backend Developer

Job Description – Backend Developer (Computer Vision / Python)

Key Accountabilities:

• Develop, optimize, and maintain Python-based backend APIs for computer vision applications.

• Implement and integrate face detection and recognition models using libraries such as dlib, face_recognition, InsightFace, or ArcFace.

• Build and manage real-time video and image processing pipelines using OpenCV.

• Work with PyTorch or TensorFlow for model loading, inference, and optimization.

• Develop RESTful or GraphQL APIs for communication between backend services and client/front-end applications.

• Manage asynchronous task processing using Redis, Celery, or RabbitMQ. • Design and maintain SQL-based databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL/SQL Server), ensuring efficient performance and data integrity.

• Collaborate with front-end developers, AI engineers, and DevOps teams for seamless integration.

• Write clean, modular, and well-documented code following best practices for scalability and performance.

Scope of Work / Required Skills:

· Strong proficiency in Python 3.x and object-oriented programming.

· Experience with OpenCV for video and image manipulation.

· Familiarity with Machine Learning frameworks: PyTorch, TensorFlow, or ONNXRuntime.

· Hands-on experience with face detection/recognition libraries such as dlib, face_recognition, InsightFace, or ArcFace.

· Understanding image embeddings, cosine similarity, and feature matching.

· Strong knowledge of API frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or aiohttp.

· Good understanding of SQL databases and ORM frameworks (SQLAlchemy, Django ORM, etc.).

· Familiarity with Redis or other queue/message broker systems.

· Basic knowledge of Docker, Git, and Linux environments.

Preferred Skills / Additional Experience:

• Experience with real-time video streaming (RTSP, HLS, WebRTC).

• Exposure to GPU acceleration (CUDA, cuDNN) for model inference.

• Knowledge of cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure) and S3-compatible storage systems.

• Understanding of microservice architectures and asynchronous programming.
