Sr. Backend Developer

Role Overview: You will be joining Shuru, a hyperlocal community app connecting users across India through neighborhood-level updates, civic issues, and local services. As a Sr. Backend Developer based in Indore, your primary responsibility will be to design, build, and maintain efficient backend systems for millions of users. Your daily tasks will involve coding, testing, debugging, and deploying backend services. Additionally, you will collaborate with front-end developers and other team members to ensure seamless integration of applications. Key Responsibilities: - Develop high-quality backend applications - Design, architect, and implement scalable code for millions of users - Code, test, debug, and deploy backend services - Collaborate with front-end developers and team members for application integration - Take ownership of application development, testing, and publishing Qualifications: - Strong foundation in Computer Science fundamentals - Proven experience in Back-End Development and Software Engineering - Proficient in Java and well-versed in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts - Solid understanding of multithreading and concurrency - Familiarity with database management systems and server-side technologies - Hands-on experience with MongoDB and Redis Cache; familiarity with Elasticsearch is a plus - Skilled in building and integrating RESTful APIs using Java-based frameworks like Spring Boot or Play - Experience working with multiple servers, Kubernetes, and scalable system design - Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail - Effective team player with strong collaboration skills - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field - Experience with cloud platforms and external APIs is an added advantage - Prior experience with B2C consumer products serving a mass user base is a strong plus Additional Details: Shuru, founded by Mayank Bhangadia, has surpassed 1 crore installations and serves more than 2.5 million monthly active users.
