Sr. Applied Data Scientist

.As a Sr. Applied Data Scientist, you will lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced machine learning models to enhance cybersecurity capabilities. You will work at the intersection of AI and threat intelligence, analyzing large-scale malware and behavioral datasets to detect and prevent emerging cyber threats. This role involves creating scalable data pipelines, evaluating model performance, and collaborating closely with research and engineering teams to implement actionable solutions. You will also mentor junior data scientists, guide best practices in ML operations, and contribute to long-term strategies for threat detection. Accountabilities
- Lead the development and optimization of ML models for malware detection with high accuracy and precision
- Perform exploratory data analysis and feature engineering on complex malware and behavioral datasets
- Design and maintain scalable data pipelines to handle large volumes of threat intelligence data
- Define KPIs and evaluation metrics to monitor model performance and effectiveness in production
- Collaborate with threat researchers and engineers to develop and deploy ML solutions across environments
- Conduct rigorous model evaluations to ensure robustness against diverse and evolving threat scenarios
- Mentor and guide junior data scientists, promoting best practices in modeling and ML operations
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in applied data science, machine learning, or related roles
- Proficiency in Python, data manipulation, visualization, and ML modeling techniques
- Experience with large-scale data processing on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Familiarity with distributed computing frameworks like Ray or Apache Spark
- Experience with SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Elasticsearch) databases
- Knowledge of workflow orchestration (Airflow) and ML lifecycle management (MLflow)
- Experience in ML operations including model deployment, monitoring, and version control
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work across teams and stakeholders
