Specialist - NOC and Firewall/VPN

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced NOC and Firewall/VPN Specialist with 5 - 9 years of hands-on experience in network operations and firewall management. The role involves monitoring global network connectivity, troubleshooting Palo Alto and Zscaler firewall environments, and driving incident resolution and automation improvements. This position supports a critical infrastructure environment, ensuring network security, optimal performance, and compliance in a 16x5 operational model.

1. Monitor network and firewall infrastructure, including links and connectivity health globally.

2. Configure, monitor, and manage Palo Alto 420, 1400, and 3200 series firewalls (HA setup) and Zscaler VPN policies.

3. Detect, triage, and resolve network and access-related alerts with rapid incident response, including P1 severity calls and RCA documentation.

4. Build dashboards and enable health checks using Logic Monitor and similar monitoring tools.

5. Participate in change management processes and scheduled/emergency network maintenance.

6. Collaborate with internal teams, customers, and third-party partners to drive incident closure and escalation.

7. Develop and maintain documentation, SOPs, and runbooks to address knowledge and process gaps.

8. Propose and implement automation improvements using scripting tools like Python or Ansible (good to have).

9. Support compliance activities with thorough firewall rule management and access control reviews.

10. Provide 16x5 onsite/on-call support, ensuring effective communication across regional teams and time zones.

Profile Summary:

1. 5 to 9 years of experience in end-to-end NOC operations and firewall/VPN management.

2. Strong hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewall series (420, 1400, 3200 in HA) and Zscaler VPNs.

3. Proficiency in using network monitoring tools such as Logic Monitor and ticketing systems like ServiceNow.

4. Experience troubleshooting WAN, LAN, and WLAN connectivity and circuit issues.

5. Knowledge of HTTP standards, REST-based endpoint integration, and automation scripting (Python, Ansible) is an advantage.

6. Ability to collaborate with business application owners and cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges.

7. Willingness to work in 16x5 shifts with on-call rotation.

8. Strong documentation skills with experience creating SOPs and PIR reports.

9. Compliance orientation with security policies and vulnerability scanning awareness.
