Specialist New Projects (D)

Purpose/Objective

The Specialist New Projects (D) is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing various tasks related to new distribution projects at the assigned zone. This includes site visits, preparing technical notes, processing approvals, and coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient project execution. The role demands a thorough understanding of the distribution network, compliance with regulatory requirements, and effective communication with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities of Role

Specialist New Projects (D) New Connections for Residential and Commercial Spaces: Review the maximum demand and infrastructure requirements for new connections at residential and commercial spaces within the assigned zone. Ensure new projects meet the specific requirements for residential and commercial spaces. Load Growth Management and Network Planning: Conduct load growth forecasting using advanced analytical tools and historical data. Support the planning and design of the 33-22/11kV network to accommodate load growth. Assist in planning yearly capital expenditure requirements to support infrastructure development. Technical Analysis and Recommendations: Conduct site visits within the respective zones to assess site details. Based on the assessment, complete the site report and review nearby infrastructure to support the load. Perform technical analysis based on the collected details and plan for potential infrastructure requirements. Based on the load distribution study, submit requirements to the developer for site needs. Assess access to cables and roads for the site and submit the drawings to developers for review. Assist in preparing detailed equipment layouts and planning substation jobs according to regulatory norms, CEA guidelines, quality, and safety standards. Prepare technical schemes for the commissioning of 11/0.4kV substations. Conduct cable route feasibility surveys in coordination with the cable laying group, quality, and HT maintenance teams. Procurement and Vendor Coordination: Conduct and prepare technical evaluation reports for vendors within the assigned zone. Coordinate with the Techno-Commercial Team, CFG (Central Finance Group), and CEO cells for timely issuance of purchase orders and resolve vendor queries. Project Management: Assist in reviewing and finalizing detailed technical evaluation reports for each proposed scheme, outlining the rationale, expected benefits, and supporting data. Use Cyme Dist software to perform load flow and loss calculations, ensuring proposed schemes are optimized for efficiency and reliability. Oversee the preparation and monitoring of Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and coordinate with Techno-Commercial for vendor orders. Prepare and manage projects in SAP, ensuring all project data is accurately recorded and tracked. Monitor the preparation and approval of NOCs, location approvals, technical analysis, and load remarks within the stipulated turnaround time from stakeholders. Manage site constraints such as odd-shaped spaces for construction, high RI charges, and incomplete customer documents. Address operational challenges such as high MF for RI charges, DLP roads, and competitor networks in the assigned area. Audit and Compliance: Prepare for internal and external audits by ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and compliant. Ensure all network planning activities adhere to regulatory norms and achieve zero non-compliance during audits. Ensure timely approval of CAPEX schemes from MERC and manage consumer objections and site constraints. Qualifications and Experience
