Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sourcing strategy that aligns with business objectives, production demand, and cost targets.
  • Conduct global and local supplier market research to identify emerging trends, new materials, and potential partners.
  • Build a multi-tiered supplier base to reduce dependency and ensure business continuity.
  • Establish long-term sourcing plans for critical raw materials considering lead times, availability, and seasonal demand fluctuations.
  • Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers based on technical capability, quality systems, financial stability, and ethical compliance.
  • Develop supplier scorecards and manage performance reviews against KPIs such as on-time delivery, defect rates, responsiveness, and cost competitiveness.
  • Negotiate and establish contracts, SLAs, and long-term agreements to secure favorable terms.
  • Foster long-term partnerships with strategic suppliers while maintaining competitive alternatives.
  • Lead cost negotiations with suppliers to achieve maximum value without compromising quality.
  • Conduct should-cost analysis and benchmarking to validate supplier pricing.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings through volume consolidation, alternative materials, and supplier partnerships.
  • Support budgeting and financial planning by providing accurate forecasts for material costs.
  • Ensure all sourced materials meet company quality standards, product specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the quality team to conduct supplier audits, material testing, and certification checks.
  • Manage corrective action processes for quality non-conformance.
  • Maintain documentation of compliance with environmental, ethical sourcing, and safety regulations.
  • Champion the use of sustainable and eco-friendly materials where applicable.
  • Work with logistics and warehouse teams to optimize inbound supply, customs clearance, and delivery timelines.
  • Ensure sourcing aligns with production schedules, stock levels, and warehouse capacity. • Develop contingency sourcing strategies to address potential disruptions.
    • Track supplier lead times and implement strategies to minimize delays.• Continuously review sourcing processes to improve efficiency and transparency.
  • Implement digital tools for supplier management, tendering, and contract tracking.
  • Promote innovation in material sourcing by engaging with suppliers on new technologies, finishes, and sustainable alternatives.
  • Prepare detailed sourcing reports on supplier performance, cost savings, and market trends.
  • Develop dashboards for KPIs such as supplier OTIF (On Time In Full), cost variance, sourcing cycle time, and material quality performance.
  • Present quarterly sourcing performance reviews to senior management.
  • Track and report savings achieved through negotiations, alternative sourcing, and efficiency improvements.

Qualifications - Required

  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 8-10 years of experience in procurement or sourcing within manufacturing (preferably furniture, interiors, or related industries).
  • Strong knowledge of raw materials relevant to furniture production (timber, veneers, fabrics, foams, metal hardware, chemicals, finishes).
  • Proven track record in supplier negotiations, contract management, and cost optimization.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems. • Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.

Qualifications - Preferred

  • Professional certifications (CIPS, APICS, ISM CPSM, or equivalent).
    • International sourcing experience with exposure to global supplier markets. • Knowledge of sustainable sourcing practices and ESG compliance.• Experience in lean procurement or strategic sourcing frameworks.• Multilingual skills to support supplier relationships in multiple regions.
