Sourcing / Purchase Manager

Role Overview

The Sourcing Purchase Manager will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and developing Tier-1 and quality aftermarket suppliers across India for two-wheeler, three-wheeler, and related automotive components. The role requires strong experience in strategic sourcing, vendor development, cost negotiation, and supply-chain improvement.

Key Responsibilities

1. Supplier Sourcing & Development

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard

  Tier-1 and high-quality aftermarket manufacturers

  for 2W, 3W, and automotive components.
• Source from

  PAN India manufacturing hubs

  : Pune, Aurangabad, Chennai, Delhi-NCR, Rajkot, Coimbatore, Hosur, etc.
• Conduct supplier audits, capability assessments, and quality checks.
• Develop new suppliers for critical components such as forging, casting, machining, sheet metal, rubber parts, electricals, engine parts, and plastic components.

2. Purchasing & Procurement Management

• Manage overall purchase operations for direct and indirect automotive materials.
• Ensure timely, quotation

  comparison,

  negotiation, and PO finalization.
• Handle cost analysis, cost breakdown verification, and competitive price benchmarking.

3. Costing, Negotiation & Vendor Performance

• Drive

  cost reduction

  initiatives without compromising quality.
• Conduct commercial negotiations with suppliers for long-term agreements.
• Monitor supplier performance on quality, delivery, and pricing.
• Resolve supply-chain issues and ensure continuous improvement.

4. Quality & Compliance

• Work closely with QA/QC, NPD, and engineering teams for PPAP, APQP, IATF documentation.
• Ensure suppliers meet all automotive quality standards and compliance requirements.

Required Experience & Qualifications

Must Have:

• Minimum 10 years experience in sourcing or purchase in the automobile industry.
• To make comparison sheet between oem and sourced parts
• Preferable conduct endurance or bench test for sourced parts
• Mandatory experience from Tier -1 or top-Tier -2companies like Hero, Honda, Bajaj, TVS, Suzuki, Yamaha, Piaggio, Royal Enfield, Mahindra 2W/3W/4W or a reputed automobile export house.
• Strong exposure to Tier-1 and Tier -2 supplier ecosystem and quality aftermarket manufacturers in India.
• Proven track record in sourcing engine parts, chassis parts, plastic parts, sheet metal, . forgings, castings, electrical components, and rubber parts.

Technical Skills:

• Knowledge of

  APQP, PPAP, IATF 16949

  , and automotive supplier processes.
• Strong in cost analysis, negotiation, supplier audits, .
• Good understanding of automotive drawings and basic engineering.

Soft Skills:

• Strong communication & vendor management skills.
• Commercial mindset with excellent negotiation ability.
• Leadership and cross-functional team coordination.

Education

• B. E B.Tech. in Mechanical / Automobile / Production Engineering

  OR

• Diploma with strong industry experience MBA (Operations / Supply Chain) is an added advantage.
