Sourcing Manager - Industrial Lubricants/ chemicals

Job Summary:

The Sourcing Manager will be responsible for developing and managing the company's sourcing strategy for raw materials, base oils, additives, packaging materials, and indirect procurement required in lubricant manufacturing. The role involves identifying reliable suppliers, negotiating contracts, ensuring cost efficiency, and maintaining a consistent supply to support uninterrupted operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Identify, qualify, and develop reliable domestic and international suppliers for raw materials and packaging.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure long-term supply stability.
• Monitor supplier performance based on quality, cost, delivery, and compliance.
  

2. Procurement & Negotiation

• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, contracts, and supply agreements.
• Drive cost-saving initiatives while maintaining quality and reliability.
• Manage import procurement of base oils, additives, and speciality chemicals.
• Ensure compliance with Incoterms, import-export regulations, and trade norms.
  

3. Market Research & Cost Analysis

• Conduct market intelligence on raw material trends, pricing, and availability.
• Benchmark suppliers, evaluate risks, and propose alternative sources.
• Analyse the total cost of ownership and suggest cost optimisation strategies.
  

4. Operations & Coordination

• Work closely with production, quality, and R&D teams to align sourcing with technical requirements.
• Coordinate with logistics for timely delivery and smooth customs clearance.
• Ensure optimal inventory levels by aligning with production schedules.
  

5. Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure suppliers comply with statutory, environmental, and ethical standards.
• Develop risk management strategies to mitigate supply disruptions.
• Maintain records of contracts, supplier audits, and sourcing documentation.
  

6. Reporting & Performance Management

• Prepare sourcing budgets, forecasts, and savings reports.
• Report procurement KPIs and supplier performance to management.
• Identify and drive continuous improvement in sourcing processes.

Authorities:

• Approve vendor selection and purchase orders within defined limits.
• Finalise supplier contracts in consultation with management.
• Recommend strategic supplier alliances to the leadership team.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Graduate / Post Graduate in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or Engineering.
• Minimum 5 to 10 years of procurement/sourcing experience, preferably in lubricants, chemicals, or oil & gas.
• Strong knowledge of raw material sourcing (base oils, additives, chemicals, packaging).
• Experience in import procurement and global supplier negotiations.
• Familiarity with ERP systems.
