Solar Technician

As a Solar Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, Solar Drinking Water, and Solar Street Light. Your primary duty will be to ensure that solar panels are correctly positioned, connected, and operating efficiently. This role will require you to work outdoors, often on rooftops or ground-mounted solar farms, and necessitates technical knowledge of electrical systems and safety protocols. Your key responsibilities will include installing solar panels by assembling, mounting, and installing them on rooftops or ground structures. You will be required to secure panels using racking and mounting hardware, as well as ensure proper wiring and connection to the power grid or battery systems. Additionally, you will conduct routine inspections to maintain optimal system performance, identify and repair any faulty panels, wiring issues, or inverter malfunctions, and clean solar panels to uphold efficiency. In terms of electrical and safety compliance, you will follow electrical diagrams and blueprints for accurate installations, ensure that all work adheres to safety guidelines and local electrical codes, and perform voltage and current tests to verify system functionality. You will also interact with customers, explaining system operation and maintenance procedures, as well as documenting and reporting all installation, maintenance, and repair activities. To excel in this role, you should hold a Diploma/ITI in Electrical, Electronics, or Renewable Energy (preferred), along with certification in Solar PV Installation (e.g., from MNRE, Skill India). Your technical skills should encompass knowledge of solar PV components, inverters, batteries, and wiring, familiarity with tools like multimeters, drills, and crimping tools, and a basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems. Furthermore, possessing problem-solving abilities for troubleshooting system issues, physical fitness and the capability to work at heights, and good communication skills for customer interactions will be advantageous.
