About the Role

SmartHelio operates in the global clean-tech market, offering cutting-edge Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions to leading energy companies, primarily in the solar utilities space. As a Performance Engineer, you will play a key role in analyzing the performance of solar PV systems, supporting the development of fault detection algorithms, and managing client relationships—primarily across Europe and the United States.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operational activities related to PV site performance analysis.
• Collaborate with data scientists working on fault detection algorithms.
• Manage and deliver weekly performance updates to clients.
• Prepare weekly performance impact reports for each PV site.
• Conduct monthly performance review meetings with clients.
• Remotely supervise on-site maintenance activities as needed.
• Develop initiatives to enhance value delivery for customers.
• Provide prompt and effective customer support.

Requirements

Educational Background:

• Degree in Engineering (preferably in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, or Renewable Energy), or a related discipline.

Professional Experience:

• Mandatory:

  3–5 years of on-site experience in O&M of commercial & industrial (C&I) and/or utility-scale PV plants, in roles such as Plant Engineer, O&M Engineer, or Performance Engineer.

• Mandatory:

  Strong understanding of PV plant operations and maintenance.

• Mandatory:

  Proven ability to manage and mobilize ground staff effectively.
• In-depth technical knowledge of the solar/renewable value chain—financing, installation, and post-installation processes.
• Capability to comprehend high-level data analytics and fault detection mechanisms.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in tools like MS Office, Google Docs, and other collaboration/documentation platforms.
