Solar Design Engineer

The Big Picture:

As a Solar Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing solar energy solutions, contributing to a greener future. 

What you can expect as an Solar Design Engineer:

• You’ll design and draft commercial, industrial, and utility-scale solar PV systems using AutoCAD/BricsCAD, SketchUp, Enscape, and AutoCAD. 
• You’ll develop conceptual layouts for rooftop, carport, and ground-mount solar systems, including single-line diagrams, equipment layouts, and bill of quantities. 
• You’ll utilize PVsyst, Helioscope, and Microsoft Excel for energy yield analysis and system sizing. 
• You’ll ensure high-quality, code-compliant designs adhering to NEC & IBC standards. 
• You’ll collaborate with internal teams and clients to ensure seamless project execution. 
• You’ll maintain an organized document system for project drawings and reports. 
• You’ll work efficiently in fast-paced environments with fluctuating workloads. 

Essential Qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or Instrumentation Engineering. 
• 1-4 years of experience in solar PV design and engineering. 
• Expertise in AutoCAD, BricsCAD, SketchUp, and PVsyst. 
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. 
• Excellent business communication and ability to work independently. 
• Strong attention to detail and time management. 

Great to have:

• Familiarity with BESS, PSCAD, ETAP, or Homer Pro. 
• Experience working on Australia, UK, or UAE projects. 
• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint for effective reporting and presentations. 
• A keen interest in staying updated with evolving solar industry trends.
