Job Title: Software Test Engineer I

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Software Test Engineer I to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in manual testing methodologies, exposure to automation testing, basic coding skills, and a solid understanding of software pipelines. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the quality, performance, and reliability of our software products through both manual and automated testing.

Key Responsibilities

Perform manual testing of web and mobile applications to identify defects and validate product quality.

Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for functionality, performance, and regression testing.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align testing with product requirements and specifications.

Actively participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives).

Apply basic coding skills to automate repetitive test scenarios and improve efficiency.

Analyze test results, document findings, and communicate them to developers, product managers, and QA teams.

Work closely with engineers to troubleshoot issues and verify bug fixes.

Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and methodologies.

Maintain comprehensive documentation of test cases, execution results, and test coverage.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Strong understanding of manual testing principles and practices.

Basic proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Java, JavaScript).

Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with attention to detail.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of automated testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Mocha, Appium, WebdriverIO, JMeter).

Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

Familiarity with CI/CD tools and containerization technologies (Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes).

ISTQB / ASTQB certification or equivalent is a plus.
