Role Overview Description

We are looking for a passionate and hands-on Engineering Lead (Backend) to join our growing tech team. You will lead a team of talented backend engineers, driving high-impact projects, architectural decisions, and product scalability. This role is ideal for someone who loves solving complex problems, building scalable APIs, and mentoring engineers — all while contributing to real business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of backend engineers; provide technical guidance, code reviews, and career development.
• Own the design, development, and delivery of robust backend systems and RESTful APIs.
• Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and QA to deliver high-quality features.
• Make architectural decisions for scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Ensure best practices in coding, testing, CI/CD, and deployment are followed.
• Drive adoption of modern engineering principles, tools, and practices.
• Troubleshoot production issues and lead root cause analysis to improve system stability.

Tech Stack

• Languages: Java or PHP (Laravel or Spring Boot)
• Databases: MySQL, MS SQL Server, Redis
• Cloud: AWS
• DevOps: Docker, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana)
• Others: REST APIs, Microservices architecture, Git

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or mentoring role.
• Deep expertise in Java or PHP stack (Laravel/Spring Boot).
• Proven experience in designing scalable systems and RESTful APIs.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, caching, performance tuning, and security.
• Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure.
• Ability to balance technical depth with business needs and timelines.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
