The position requires the engineer to work on qualification of Networking devices, fabric, protocols with a deep level understanding of networking at the protocol level coupled with programming skills to support the automation of test plans. As OCI is a cloud-based network with a global footprint, this support will include evaluation and test of highly scaled up network infrastructure.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in testing and automation of Networking devices at system level
- Mandatory expertise with traffic generator like IXIA or similar Network Test equipment.
- Fluency in BGP, MPLS, VxLAN, EVPN OSPF, QoS Networking device hardware
- Experience in RDMA, RoCE, Infiniband is preferable
- Experience with Python or other object-oriented programming language
- Experience with optical transceiver (100G, 400G, 800G), EEPROM, DOM and Optical cables
- Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
- Excellent judgment to influence product roadmap direction, features, and priorities.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Electronics/Hardware Engineering or related field
- Preference will be given for candidates with certifications like CCNA, CCNP, etc.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop Comprehensive test plans and test cases based on networking protocols, production network configuration and scale use case
- Perform functional, scalability, performance, interoperability, regression, and security testing of network devices such as routers.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test scripts and frameworks to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
- Configure, deploy, and manage test environments using lab setups for scale validations required for system validation.
- Have strong Troubleshooting experience and analyze test results, identify root causes of failures
- Record detailed test results, create test reports, and maintain clear documentation throughout the test lifecycle.
- Collaborate with Network vendors, designers to resolve issues
- Mentor junior engineers.
