Job Title: Social Media Growth Specialist - YouTube

Location: Bangalore Onsite

Department: Marketing

Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role:

The YouTube Growth Specialist will lead IPL s YouTube strategy across long-form videos, Shorts, playlists and series. The role focuses on retention-driven storytelling, CTR improvement, YouTube SEO and audience expansion.

A portfolio showing channels, videos or series grown by the candidate is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities: YouTube Channel Strategy

Build a complete content strategy across long-form, Shorts and playlists
Define content pillars aligned to product careers, tech leadership and industry insights
Structure playlists, metadata and channel layout for maximum discoverability

Content Creation and Production

Ideate and script long-form videos, interviews, explainer content and expert features
Guide editors on narrative flow, pacing, retention structuring and visual storytelling
Convert long-form content into Shorts optimized for discovery

YouTube SEO and Optimization

Optimize titles, thumbnails, descriptions, tags and chapters
Conduct A and B tests for thumbnails and title formats
Improve watch time, click-through rate and audience retention curves

Analytics and Growth

Track average view duration, CTR, returning viewers, session growth and subscriber additions
Run experiments to improve content performance and viewer behavior patterns

Community Development

Manage comments and community posts
Build engagement loops and nurture loyal subscriber groups

What Success Looks Like:

Strong month-on-month subscriber growth
High retention and watch time across videos
Optimized thumbnails and titles resulting in better CTR
Effective Shorts driving new audience discovery
Clear improvement in returning viewer metrics

Required Skills and Experience:

3-6 years of YouTube-specific growth experience
A proven portfolio demonstrating video or channel growth
Strong ability to script for retention and narrative clarity
Deep understanding of YouTube s SEO and ranking mechanisms
Strong analytical ability to interpret retention graphs and performance metrics
