Essential Qualifications:

Social and Environmental Management

Oversee and ensure compliance with social and environmental safeguards in major irrigation projects.

Community Engagement and Mobilization

Work closely with rural and command area communities to build trust and participation in project planning and implementation.

Gender Mainstreaming

Integrate gender perspectives into irrigation and rural development activities.

Promote women’s participation and leadership in community-based institutions.

SC & ST Empowerment

Design and implement programs to empower Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) in project areas.

Ensure equitable access to project benefits for marginalized groups.

Capacity Building & Training

Develop and conduct training programs for project staff, local institutions, and CBOs on social inclusion, environmental safeguards, and participatory approaches.

Coordination with Stakeholders

Liaise with government departments, NGOs, donor agencies, and local institutions for effective project implementation.

Facilitate participatory planning processes and grievance redress mechanisms.

Monitoring & Reporting

Prepare regular reports on social and environmental performance of irrigation projects.

Monitor compliance with safeguard frameworks and recommend improvements.

Policy and Framework Development

Support the formulation of social and environmental guidelines, frameworks, and strategies for irrigation and rural development projects.

Field Visits and Supervision

Conduct frequent site visits to ensure proper implementation of environmental and social safeguard measures.

Document best practices and lessons learned.

Innovation and Sustainability

Introduce innovative practices in community engagement, sustainable water use, and environmental management.

Promote climate-resilient and socially inclusive irrigation models.
