Snowflake Administrator

• Snowflake Platform Management:

  Manage and maintain Snowflake environment, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance.



• Data Warehouse Configuration:

  Configure and optimize Snowflake data warehouse instances, including warehouses, databases, schemas, and tables.



• Performance Tuning:

  Monitor and optimize query performance, database performance, and resource utilization, implementing best practices for efficient and cost-effective operations.



• Security Management:

  Implement security policies for Snowflake, including role-based access controls (RBAC), user management, data masking, and ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.



• Backup and Disaster Recovery:

  Implement and maintain data backup, restore procedures, and disaster recovery strategies for Snowflake.



• ETL & Data Integration:

  Collaborate with ETL developers to design and optimize data pipelines, ensuring smooth data ingestion into Snowflake.



• Incident Management:

  Troubleshoot and resolve issues with the Snowflake platform, providing support for ongoing data platform incidents or outages.



• Cost Optimization:

  Monitor and analyze Snowflake costs, providing recommendations for optimizing resource allocation and reducing unnecessary expenditures.



• Automation & Scripting:

  Write automation scripts (e. g. , using SQL, Python, or other tools) for Snowflake instance management, monitoring, and alerting.



• Collaboration:

  Work closely with data engineers, data scientists, and analysts to ensure data availability and reliability for reporting, analytics, and machine learning purposes.

Requirements:

• Experience:

  3+ years of experience managing and administering Snowflake environments or similar cloud data platforms.



• Technical Skills:

  
  
  • Strong knowledge of Snowflake architecture, performance tuning, and best practices.
  
  
  • Proficiency with SQL, data modeling, and data warehousing concepts.
  
  
  • Experience with Snowflake s security features (RBAC, data masking, etc. ).
  
  
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and integrations with Snowflake.
  
  
  • Experience with ETL/ELT processes, especially in cloud environments.
  
  
  • Familiarity with automation tools and scripting languages (e. g. , Python, Shell).
  
  
  
  



• Certifications:

  Snowflake Certified Administrator (preferred).



• Communication Skills:

  Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with large-scale data migration projects to Snowflake.


• Knowledge of data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.


• Experience in implementing data governance and compliance standards.


• Cloud security certifications (e. g. , AWS Certified Security Specialty).
