General informationWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SMT Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team (QMPP) for Schaeffler India Ltd (formerly Vitesco Technologies) at the Pune, Talegaon Plant. This role is crucial for ensuring that our products meet both internal specifications and customer expectations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Surface Mount Technology and a proven track record in quality assurance within the electronics manufacturing industry.Your Key Responsibilities
  • To lead systematic problem solving in SMT for internal process rejections by using standards and systems.
  • To define and implement a roadmap to achieve the Quality KPIs for the SMT lines.
  • Work on top issues and resolve the same using structured approach to avoid recurrence of same.
  • To systematically plan and execute manufacturing quality audits such as process audit, product audit, layered process audit, system audit
  • To lead product-process change management activities.
  • Implementation and improvement of SPC and MSA.
  • Drive adherence of systems in processes for example, Safe Launch activities, Change Management, control plan, PPAP, Reverse-PFMEA, Product Requalification, Manufacturing Process Control, Jidoka, Deviation management, Production Restart, and Quality standards.
  • Define the handling of non-confirming parts regularly. To define path for each conformance/non-conformance/blocking of parts.
  • To lead systematic problem solving for the customer complaints related to the SMT processes by using standards and systems, Customer as well as Vitesco.
  • To improve the process performance and system performance by systemic approach.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and optimize manufacturing processes.

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering Electronics with 7+ years’ experience.
  • Minimum 6-8 years’ experience in Automotive industry in SMT / Electronics product manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in SMT processes (certifications such as IPC-A-610), quality control methodologies, and tools such as SPC, FMEA, and Six Sigma.
