About Us:

POSHN is a new and exciting India based Food-tech venture founded in 2020, backed by leading US-based VCs, Large Banks and NBFCs. Our mission is to organise and digitally transform the global Food Supply chain market. With a tech product first mindset, we are reimagining solutions for this enormous and complex industry, creating a platform that empowers stakeholders and provides a seamless, efficient experience.

Team:

Our core team comprises alumni from BITS Pilani, IIM, and XLRI, each with over a three decades of experience in business transformation, supply chain, technology, and product development. Previously, we have built several highly impactful tech startups from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement & Sourcing

• Knowledge base of Local Mandis / Aadat / Arrivals / Crop Seasonality / Crop Calendar Planning
• Support Farmer / Rice millers /Anaj Mandi / FPO / Brokers / Potential Buyer engagement and vendor management for timely paddy /rice/other grains procurement / sourcing.
• Ensure fair price negotiations while maintaining sustainable supplier relationships.
• Monitor adherence to government procurement policies and regulations.

Ground Operations & Logistics

• Oversee paddy /rice/other grains aggregation, handling, drying, and safe storage.
• Coordinate transportation and logistics for movement of paddy and milled rice / other grains.
• Implement operational efficiency measures to minimize losses during handling.

Quality Management

• Monitor and enforce quality standards for paddy procurement and rice milling/Other grains
• Work with QA teams to set benchmarks on Quality parameters such as moisture content, purity, and grading etc.

Stakeholder Management

• Liaisen with farmers, local cooperatives, traders, and mill owners.
• Collaborate with internal procurement, supply chain, and compliance teams.
• Provide training and guidance to ground staff on best practices.

Compliance & Reporting

• Ensure adherence to food safety norms & Quality standards , Good Manufacturing practices while processing & storage of Agri commodities , mandatory compliances such as FSSAI / ISO / Udyog Aadhar/ MSME / basic KYC document quality standards.
• Monitoring, Tracking and maintaining the records on procurement volumes, wastage, and costs.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelors/Masters degree or related field.
• 510 years of experience in agri-operations, preferably in paddy/rice value chain.
• Strong knowledge of paddy procurement ecosystems, paddy milling,rice and other grains market practices.
• Hands-on expertise in ground logistics, storage, and warehouse management.
• Familiarity with government procurement policies and food safety regulations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Problem-solving, process improvement, and team management capabilities.

Key Competencies:

• Subject matter expertise in paddy, rice and other grains value chain operations.

• Strong operational execution and analytical skills.
• Ability to work in rural/agri-based environments.
• Negotiation and vendor management.
