Job Description

Role Overview: As a Site Supervisor for Highway/Road Projects, your main responsibility is to supervise and monitor day-to-day construction activities on-site. You will collaborate closely with site engineers, contractors, and workers to ensure timely execution, safety compliance, and quality standards at the project site. Key Responsibilities: - Supervise daily construction work encompassing earthwork, subgrade, GSB, WMM, DBM, BC, side drains, and structures. - Ensure all work is executed in accordance with drawings, specifications, and instructions. - Monitor the deployment of manpower, materials, and machinery on-site. - Uphold work discipline, adhere to timelines, and enhance labor force productivity. Quality and Safety Monitoring: - Ensure work is performed as per MORTH/IRC guidelines and quality standards. - Conduct basic checks such as levels, alignment, and compaction. - Enforce safety measures for workers and ensure the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on-site. - Promptly report any unsafe practices and hazards. Coordination and Reporting: - Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, and material suppliers. - Maintain site registers like DPR (Daily Progress Report), Labour Report, Material Received Register, etc. - Report daily progress, delays, and site issues to the Site Engineer or Project Manager. - Assist in work planning for the next day and monitor execution. Material and Resource Management: - Supervise the unloading, stacking, and usage of construction materials. - Prevent material wastage and ensure the proper use of tools and equipment. - Support the storekeeper in maintaining daily consumption and stock updates. Support for Measurement and Billing: - Assist in taking measurements for subcontractor billing. - Maintain records of quantities executed at the site. - Support documentation required for client inspections and billing. Qualification Required: - Education: Diploma in Civil Engineering / ITI Civil or equivalent. - Experience: 3 to 5 years in highway/roadway construction projects. - Knowledge of road construction activities and basic technical drawings. - Familiarity with MORTH/IRC specifications. - Basic computer and documentation skills are preferred.
