As a Site Reliability Engineer at Barclays, your role will involve applying software engineering techniques, automation, and best practices in incident response to ensure the reliability, availability, and scalability of the systems, platforms, and technology within the organization. You will play a crucial part in anticipating and creating the future at Barclays. **Key Responsibilities:** - Utilize a strong understanding of enterprise design principles to build secure, fault-tolerant, and scalable systems. - Demonstrate expertise in Agile, DevOps, SRE, and CI:CD methodologies. - Engage in hands-on development using Java, Python, or other programming languages. - Implement release and change management processes following ITIL guidelines. - Utilize Git or similar source code control systems effectively. - Employ build automation and dependency management tools such as Maven/Gradle. - Provide leadership to small to midsize teams and demonstrate a strong work ethic. - Offer technical leadership in resolving complex technical problems. **Qualifications Required:** - Experience with IaC and Automation tools such as Ansible, Chef, Terraform. - Familiarity with event bus products like Kafka. - Proficiency in testing methodologies such as TDD, BDD, and testing automation. - Ability to evaluate and deploy third-party products effectively, along with vendor selection best practices. - Excellent understanding of architectural and design patterns. - Experience in API development using REST/SOAP.
