Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Site Execution & Supervision
Execute and supervise all civil works related to substation foundations, control building, cable trenches, equipment foundations, boundary wall, and other associated structures.
Ensure construction activities are carried out as per approved drawings, technical specifications, and quality standards.
Monitor contractor manpower, machinery, and material utilization at site.
Quality Control & Inspection
Conduct inspections of civil works and ensure adherence to quality standards (IS/IEC codes).
Verify material quality (cement, aggregate, sand, steel, etc.) and approve usage after proper testing.
Maintain records of cube tests, compaction tests, and other quality documents.
Coordination & Reporting
Coordinate with electrical/mechanical teams for interface works.
Liaise with client representatives, consultants, and subcontractors for site progress and inspections.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports and submit to the Project Manager.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure adherence to all HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) norms at site.
Conduct toolbox talks and ensure safe working practices.
Report and record any near misses, incidents, or safety violations.
Planning & Documentation
Assist in preparing work schedules and monitor progress against plan.
Verify and maintain site records, drawing registers, and material reconciliation.
Support in preparing civil measurement sheets for contractor billing.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
Experience: 3–8 years of experience in substation or power project civil construction.
Preferred Industry: Power Transmission & Distribution / Electrical Substation Projects (66kV–765kV).

Skills & Competencies:

Strong understanding of civil drawings and structural detailing.
Knowledge of substation civil layout, foundations, and earthing arrangements.
Familiarity with IS codes and quality standards for civil works.
Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and basic quantity estimation.
Excellent communication and coordination skills.
Strong problem-solving and leadership abilities.

Additional Requirements:

Willingness to relocate and work at remote project sites.
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and maintain timelines.
