Site Engineer

Job Title: Site Engineer – Heavy Erection

Department: Projects / Site Execution

Reports To: Project Manager / Site In charge

Job Summary:

The Site Engineer (Heavy Erection) will be responsible for supervising and managing heavy structural erection and installation works at the project site. The role requires strong technical expertise in handling heavy steel structures, equipment erection, alignment, and commissioning, while ensuring safety, quality, and timely execution of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and execute erection of heavy structures, equipment, and fabricated assemblies as per drawings and specifications.
• Plan and monitor lifting operations, rigging activities, and heavy equipment handling using cranes and other lifting devices.
• Ensure proper alignment, levelling, grouting, and bolting/welding of erected structures and machinery.
• Prepare and maintain daily site progress reports, manpower deployment, and activity logs.
• Coordinate with project managers, design teams, contractors, and safety officers for smooth project execution.
• Conduct inspection of fabricated parts, assemblies, and equipment before erection.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety standards, method statements, and erection procedures.
• Monitor and control usage of manpower, machinery, and material to achieve productivity and avoid delays.
• Resolve on-site technical issues and provide solutions to minimize downtime.
• Assist in preparing work schedules, erection sequences, and lifting plans.
• Ensure compliance with QA/QC procedures and client specifications.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of heavy structural erection, rigging, and lifting techniques.
• Familiarity with crane operations, load charts, and lifting plans.
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, GA drawings, and erection drawings.
• Good understanding of welding, bolting, and alignment practices.
• Strong leadership and ability to manage site teams and subcontractors.
• Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and reporting ability.
• Knowledge of safety standards (IS codes, OSHA, etc.) related to heavy erection.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical / Civil Engineering.
• 2-4 years of experience in heavy erection / fabrication industry (power plants, steel plants, oil & gas, infrastructure, or similar projects).
• Experience in structural erection, heavy equipment erection, and rigging is mandatory.
• Certification in rigging/safety will be an added advantage.

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
