Job Summary

The Site Engineer (Civil) is responsible for managing, supervising, and executing on-site construction activities in accordance with project specifications, drawings, quality standards, and safety norms. The role involves coordination between various stakeholders — including contractors, labor teams, and consultants — to ensure that the project progresses efficiently, safely, and within timelines.

Key Roles and Responsibilities1. Execution and Supervision

  • Supervise and monitor all on-site civil works such as excavation, concreting, reinforcement, formwork, masonry, finishing, etc.
  • Ensure that work is carried out as per approved drawings, technical specifications, and quality standards.
  • Manage daily site activities and allocate work to subcontractors or labor teams.
  • Check levels, layouts, and dimensions to ensure structural accuracy.

2. Planning and Scheduling

  • Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly work schedules.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager for material, manpower, and equipment planning.
  • Ensure timely completion of assigned activities as per project timelines.

3. Quality Control

  • Ensure that the materials used are as per approved specifications and mix designs.
  • Conduct inspections for shuttering, reinforcement, and concrete quality before and during pouring.
  • Coordinate with the Quality Control (QC) team for cube casting, testing, and approval.
  • Maintain quality checklists and inspection records.

4. Measurement and Billing

  • Record daily work progress and maintain measurement sheets.
  • Verify subcontractor work quantities and prepare bills for submission to the billing department.
  • Ensure proper documentation of work done for progress and client billing purposes.

5. Material Management

  • Raise material requisitions based on site requirements.
  • Check receipt and quality of materials delivered to the site.
  • Prevent material wastage and ensure optimal utilization.
  • Maintain stock registers and consumption reports.

6. Safety and Compliance

  • Enforce safety rules and PPE usage at the site.
  • Report and prevent unsafe practices or hazardous conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and statutory norms.

7. Coordination and Communication

  • Liaise with contractors, consultants, architects, and project management teams.
  • Provide regular updates on progress, delays, and site challenges.
  • Conduct daily briefings with site workers to ensure clarity of tasks.

8. Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain daily progress reports (DPR), labor reports, and site logs.
  • Keep records of site inspections, approvals, and material test reports.
  • Support in preparing project completion reports and handover documentation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
